The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan, will take advantage of its large campus and the Midwest’s cold winter weather to host its second Winter Motoring Meet, a vintage snowmobile exhibition on February 5. The snowmobiles will include those used in racing.
The day will feature rides, an exhibition of professional ice carving, outdoor games (and a warming fire and homemade soup, gourmet hot chocolate and other beverages) and, weather permitting, snowmobile parades around the campus’ oval race track. The campus also will be open to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing for guests who bring that equipment.
The museum will offer free “glorified sleigh rides” in its Ford Model AA pickup truck and other open-air vehicles.
The day is being staged in cooperation with Vintage Snowmobile Michigan.
