Diesel Price Climbs 9.3¢ to $4.633

The national average diesel price continued its steady ascent, rising 9.3 cents to reach $4.633 a gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released Sept. 18.
Highlights
- The average price for diesel has gained 82.7 cents a gallon over the past nine weeks.
- The most recent price decline for trucking’s main fuel was 3.9 cents July 10.
- A gallon of diesel now costs 33.1 cents less than it did at this time in 2022.
- Diesel’s average price climbed in all 10 regions in EIA’s weekly survey. The largest gain was 22.2 cents in California, sending the state back over $6 a gallon. The smallest increase was 3.9 cents in the Lower Atlantic.
- The average price for a gallon of gasoline bumped up 5.6 cents to $3.878.
